A Fortune 100 financial services company is seeking a Systems Operations Engineer specializing in VMware to support large-scale enterprise infrastructure across Charlotte, NC or Chandler, AZ (hybrid).
This is a contract opportunity focused on maintaining and enhancing complex virtual hosting environments, physical server hardware, and core systems operations technologies. You’ll be a key contributor in shaping infrastructure reliability, driving automation, and solving complex technical challenges that directly influence enterprise availability. Contract Duration: 6-12+ months
Required Skills & Experience- 4+ years of Systems Engineering or Technology Architecture experience (or equivalent through work, training, military, or education)
- 3–5 years of VMware experience
- Strong knowledge of VMware fundamentals and related technologies
- Experience supporting Dell Power Flex
- Experience troubleshooting and supporting physical server hardware
- Ability to lead break-fix, restoration, and root-cause analysis efforts
- 3–5 years of Dell and HP server hardware support
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
- Nutanix AHV/AOS support experience
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Exceptional analytical and technical aptitude
- 60% VMware (vRealize, vRA, vROPs)
- 20% Physical Server Hardware (Dell, HP)
- 10% Storage (SAN/NAS, Power Flex)
- 10% OS Support (Windows, Linux, VDI)

On Engineering (troubleshooting, system support, infrastructure maintenance) - 20% Incident & Problem Management (break-fix, RCA, chronic issue resolution)
- 10% Collaboration with Engineering, Business, Vendors, and Monitoring Teams
