Controls Technician – Building Automation (Charlotte, North Carolina)
Salary: $35 – $45 per hour
We are looking for a BAS Controls Technician to install, program, commission, and service building automation systems (BAS) across commercial projects. This role involves working closely with customers, project teams, and field technicians to deliver high‑quality control solutions.
Responsibilities- Install, program, and commission BAS/DDC systems for new construction and retrofit projects.
- Troubleshoot and service control systems at customer sites.
- Verify system performance and ensure sequencing meets project specifications.
- Develop and implement control programs, databases, and graphics.
- Complete commissioning documentation and maintain accurate as‑built records.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams to support project execution.
- Provide technical support, training, and follow‑up for end users.
- Assist HVAC technicians with controls‑related issues in the field.
- Mentor junior technicians and contribute to team development.
- Identify service opportunities and support ongoing customer relationships.
- 3–5+ years of experience working with BAS or HVAC controls systems.
- Strong understanding of HVAC equipment and control sequences.
- Experience with platforms such as Tridium Niagara (N4/AX) or Distech.
- Ability to troubleshoot, program, and commission DDC systems.
- Comfortable working directly with customers and in the field.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Technical degree or formal training in HVAC, electronics, or controls.
- Experience with multiple BAS platforms or OEM systems.
