Do you feel energized from designing, running, testing and upgrading engineering systems and processes? Then the Industrial Engineer Launch & Automation is the job for you! This role supports the company’s future and existing operations, meets project deadlines, and proactively manages customer and stakeholder expectations by following the Launch Engineering governance process in the Americas region. As a Launch Engineer you will ensure technologies and processes run as planned, maintain access to all necessary tools, and collaborate with solutions and operations teams.
You will also help lead and shape the design of our solutions, applying a strong technical background in warehouse automation to influence technology and engineering decisions. Your work will contribute to building a strong culture, facilitating automation implementation, and constantly improving how we work.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities- 50% — Partner with the Solutions Engineering team and act as SME to execute a successful, on‑time, on‑budget launch and implementation of new content on the manufacturing floor.
- 20% — Serve as Engineering SME for standards design, implementation, adoption, and future development; develop and write process documents, flowcharts, and review all standards to ensure SOPs accurately reflect site operations.
- 10% — Drive continuous process improvement and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional operational and development teams to solve problems and implement new solutions.
- 10% — Collaborate with other teams to coordinate successful and timely launch activities, including owning kickoff meetings, discovery, UAT, and go‑live processes.
- 5% — Support development of risk mitigation actions and proof‑out plans to ensure quality launch.
- 5% — Work with the Solutions Engineering team to incorporate improvements into future solutions based on lessons learned during launch.
- Provide leadership to an engaged team, promoting collaboration and ensuring each member is developed and evaluated against clear goals and objectives.
- Act as an ambassador for DP World, demonstrating positive behaviours, safety, and adherence to DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Logistics, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical or Automation Engineering.
- Experience with greenfield/brownfield facility launches.
- Proficiency with pre‑determined motion time system tools (e.g., MOST or MTM).
- Experience in agile project management.
- Experience implementing WCS/WES.
- Ability to travel 70–80%.
- PMP certification.
- Experience with automation equipment, including computer/machine vision, robotics, sortation, conveyance, and autonomous robots.
- Solid understanding of control systems and IT‑OT convergence.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- 7–10 years of experience overseeing launch activities for production, including workflow design, cell layout, and trial runs.
