Position Summary

In this role, you will bridge our sales team, technical engineers, and valued customers by creating technical/commercial proposals for cutting tools and customized tooling solutions. Your professional and analytical skills will analyze customer requirements and deliver timely, accurate information that maintains CERATIZIT’s competitiveness while upholding high‑quality standards and delivery performance. You will price special tools and tooling packages, ensuring consistency with profitability and financial targets and market competitiveness.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Support custom tooling quotes from initial customer inquiry through concept development, quotation, order placement, and tool delivery.
  • Generate and maintain accurate quotations; calculate new tool cost estimates; review existing tooling to ensure target margins are consistently achieved.
  • Coordinate quotation activities to deliver timely, accurate, and commercially sound quotes for both existing customers and new business opportunities.
  • Communicate with customers and CERATIZIT’s Sales Engineers to manage expectations, timelines, and technical requirements throughout the quotation and ordering process.
  • Interface internally with support staff, in conjunction with sales engineers, on pricing, application engineering, design engineering and order processing to create positive customer experiences.
  • Liaise between CERATIZIT subsidiaries and external suppliers on issues relating to custom‑engineered product orders and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain positive and open communication regarding the coordination of quotations with engineering and manufacturing teams across the company as well as third‑party suppliers.
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously improve robust quotation processes and procedures with a focus on quotation consistency in the areas of RFQ validity and verification, Bill of Material (BOM) accuracy, technical drawing validations, historical cost references, and final cost data and documentation.
Education and Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in cutting tool and tooling solutions; knowledge in the application of metalworking tools across a range of materials and manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Technical knowledge of metal cutting tooling; solid analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving capabilities a plus.
  • Preferred ERP experience (SAP strongly desired); accurate work in structured quoting, costing, and order‑management systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) for data analysis, professional communications, and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including active listening, clear technical information conveyance, and effective engagement with customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • High level of urgency, adaptability, and resilience; ability to perform under time pressure and manage multiple priorities while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Commercially astute and customer‑centric, with an understanding of margin management, value engineering, and long‑term customer relationships.
  • Excellent organizational, time‑management, and prioritization skills, with attention to detail and a structured, process‑driven approach.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related discipline) or equivalent combination of education and hands‑on industry experience.
