Professional Land Surveyor (Licensed)
The Professional Surveyor position functions as a member of the Schneider Geomatics team with the purpose of self‑performing most tasks associated with Geomatics projects, including field and office tasks. The objective is to deliver survey services to the client that meet the requirements of our agreements in terms of type, quality, and timeliness. The role typically includes boundary surveys and subdivision plats, topographic surveys, land title (ALTA) surveys, route surveys, construction surveys, and control surveys.
The Surveyor may also perform other technical duties to support various Geomatics projects originating from other Schneider offices or teams. This position requires a good understanding of both field and office functions needed to produce traditional surveying deliverables related to the utility infrastructure and construction markets.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
- Professional Land Surveyors license required in North Carolina.
- 3 – 5 years of field surveying experience.
- 3 – 5 years of office surveying experience.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience using AutoCAD.
- Minimum of one (1) year of Civil 3D experience preferred.
- Must be knowledgeable in the use of conventional and GPS land surveying equipment and techniques (experience with Trimble GPS network and base/rover setup, Trimble robotic Total Station, and proficiency in Trimble Business Center preferred).
- Experience in using GIS platforms and internet search engines.
- The ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering drawings and utility construction plans.
- A valid driver's license and good driving record required.
- Good written and oral communication in English required.
