Project Manager - Fabrication

Carolina Pipe Fabrication, LLC – Project Manager – Fabrication

The candidate will assist and support the Project Engineer team in creating detailed cost estimates for materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, and other project-related activities to help managers and project managers bid on or determine the price of the project.

• Coordinate with Engineering, BIM, and Mechanical Operations teams
• Determine mechanical construction needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet customer facility requirements
• Provide complete closeout documentation and warranty coverage
• Develop scope of work and project specifications
• Prepare and issue purchase orders for subcontractors
• Optimize job costs by negotiating prices with vendors and subcontractors
• Document work by maintaining files for each job
• Review and maintain cost estimates of materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, and other project activities
• Work with engineering on the specification and pricing of purchased equipment to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc.
• Up to 10% travel required
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company from time to time

• 2 years of experience as a project manager in mechanical construction or in a fabrication/manufacturing shop or facility, specifically skid design and pre-fabrication elements
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college, military training, or technical school preferred
• Proven success in managing large projects
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating manuals, and written directions
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications
• Ability to abide by basic safe work practices
• Ability to communicate with internal and external customers
• Ability to write reports
• Regular supervisory probation period required, if applicable
• Random drug testing required
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
• On a path to attain EI certification
• Knowledge and general understanding of Autodesk products such as Revit and AutoCAD
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
• Physical demands include frequent sitting, occasional stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing, climbing, standing, walking, reaching, and gripping; clear speaking and adequate hearing; vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screens; and repetitive motions for computer use
• Material handling: frequent lifting up to 50 lbs and constant lifting up to 25 lbs, placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC)

Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, electrical shock, toxic or caustic chemicals, wet or humid conditions, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working at high exposure places (job sites) or office environment with conditioned air and bright lights.
