Whatthe Role Involves
- Lead a team of Aecon (United) Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) engineers and designers, providing continuous on‑site support for nuclear plant modifications in North and South Carolina.
- Develop and review engineering change and plant modification packages.
- Create equipment specifications, data sheets, calculations and analysis as required to support design and configuration control.
- Prepare electrical design documents: single‑line diagrams, panel schedules, schematic and wiring diagrams, electrical physical and raceway drawings, lighting and grounding plans, cable schedules.
- Perform electrical studies such as short‑circuit, voltage‑drop, coordination and arc‑flash using OTI‑ETAP software.
- Oversee supervisory responsibilities including review of proposals, schedules and budgets; monitor and report budget and schedule performance.
- Provide technical leadership to engineers and designers for electrical and I&C disciplines.
- Coordinate activities with clients, contractors, vendors and other project team members.
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from a four‑year accredited college or university.
- Strong practical knowledge and experience working in Nuclear Operating Plants.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license in any U.S. state; ability to obtain licensure in other states by comity.
- Minimum 8+ years overall experience designing electrical systems for power plants or heavy industrial facilities.
- Familiarity with standard plant design processes and experience preparing engineering drawings (wiring diagrams, schematics).
- Familiarity with IEEE, EPRI, industry codes and standards.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to interface with project team members, clients, contractors and vendors.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Teams).
- Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant.
This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. Applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.
