Job Opportunity
One good sign that a company is doing well is when they expand their existing facilities and that's exactly what this company is doing right now. They are in the very early stages of a plant expansion project and will be moving new technologies into this plant. This role will be involved in the scale-up and tech transfer of those new products and processes.
Overall the site employs about 200 people and we have placed 4 engineers here in the past six months, attracting people out of Dow Chemical, Solvay and Sealed Air. This facility has doubled their headcount in the past 10 years and will double again within the next few years.
This facility is well-kept (clean), the company culture is such that people rarely leave, and they promote a good work-life balance. The plant itself is located southwest of Charlotte and is surrounded by affordable housing and lots of stuff to do outdoors. Charlotte has a major, International airport and the ocean is about 3 1/2 hours away (Myrtle Beach, Charleston).
RoleThis person will be focusing on a new site expansion which will be PSM regulated. At the 2 existing plants they will carry out HAZOPS, MOCs, and PHAs and implementing EHS related process improvements, making the plants more ergonomic or reducing waste output.
