A well-established consulting engineering firm is seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead the design and delivery of complex building systems projects throughout the Southeast. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed Mechanical Engineer who enjoys managing projects, mentoring staff, and working directly with clients on high-profile institutional and healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities- Manage mechanical engineering projects from proposal through construction.
- Lead the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial and institutional buildings.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, staffing, QA/QC, and client communications.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, and consulting partners.
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers.
- Perform engineering calculations, code reviews, and technical analysis.
- Stamp and seal construction documents as the Engineer of Record.
- Support sustainable design initiatives, energy-efficient building systems, and lifecycle cost evaluations.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- 10+ years of mechanical building systems design experience.
- Proven project management experience within an MEP consulting environment.
- Strong background in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design.
- Proficiency with Revit.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Higher education, healthcare, municipal, laboratory, or public sector projects.
- Energy modeling and sustainable building design.
- Specification writing and construction cost estimating.
