Electrical Designer
Your day-to-day will include providing technical and design services in support of power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems as part of a multi-disciplinary project team. You will produce electrical design and construction drawings and specifications for higher education, healthcare, and other commercial or industrial facilities. You will be responsible for completing design tasks within budget, on schedule, and in collaboration with the Project Manager, Senior Electrical Engineer, and design team.
Responsibilities- Provide technical and design services for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and telecommunication systems.
- Produce electrical design and construction drawings and specifications.
- Collaborate with project managers, Senior engineers, and the design team to ensure project success.
- Complete design tasks within budget and on schedule.
- 1+ years of experience in AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit design.
- Two-year degree in computer-aided drafting, electrical systems technology, or a related technical field.
- Good technical and communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically, precisely, and consistently.
- Capability to work alone or as part of a project team.
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle and criminal record.
Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's degree in engineering-related background or Bachelor's degree from an engineering discipline.
- Project experience with arc flash analysis and coordination studies utilizing SKM software.
- Experience with drafting and analysis software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SKM.
- Possession of PE registration or ability to quickly obtain through reciprocity.
- 5+ years of experience in providing technical and design services for power distribution, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC).
- Strong interest in Electrical Design.
- BS in Electrical Engineering.
The position is based in the Charlotte office, with a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
Job Type & LocationThis is a permanent position based out of Charlotte, NC.
