Description
Apply now to join our Charlotte team as a Sr. Design Engineer, leading overhead and underground distribution projects from concept to completion. You’ll perform and support field noting, develop construction prints, prepare budget estimates (Maximo/BOUD), and ensure quality through QA/QC. This role also includes structural analysis of distribution poles while collaborating with the team to deliver reliable, high-quality designs.
What You'll Do:- Apply your technical expertise to develop high-quality designs that meet project specifications and client requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to understand project goals and design details.
- Communicate project risks or challenges related to scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
- Partner with Designers and Drafters to produce complete and accurate design packages.
- Contribute to engineering designs through calculations, drawings, and technical analysis.
- Lead design efforts on smaller projects and support complex engineering initiatives.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with team members, clients, and vendors.
- Help coordinate design tasks and support the development of design team members.
- Maintain quality by following company and client procedures and performing thorough self-reviews.
- Support field activities and other project needs as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in electrical distribution
- QA/QC experience is highly desired
- Knowledge of BOUD, Maximo, and Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
- Strong work ethic with a desire to work in a production environment
