EHS Manager position with a well-established, specialty chemical manufacturing company in Charlotte. This role is focused on leading all environmental, health, and safety efforts within a chemical plant, ensuring compliance, minimizing risk, and maintaining a strong safety culture. The ideal candidate is a hands on EHS professional with experience in chemical or high-hazard manufacturing who is comfortable owning the function, working directly on the plant floor, and partnering closely with operations leadership.

Requirements Bachelors degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
510+ years of EHS experience in a chemical, industrial, or high-hazard manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and environmental compliance regulations

Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) programs

Proven ability to work independently and own the EHS function at a site level

Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs for the facility

Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state/local environmental and safety regulations

Maintain and support Process Safety Management (PSM) programs within a chemical manufacturing environment

Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and hazard analyses; implement corrective actions as needed

Investigate incidents, near-misses, and safety concerns; perform root cause analysis and drive preventive measures

Deliver safety training for new hires and existing employees, including proper handling of hazardous materials

Monitor and track safety metrics, incidents, and environmental data (including spill tracking and reporting)
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, audits, and community-related concerns

Lead emergency preparedness efforts, including response planning and drills for potential plant incidents
