Position: Project Manager / Process Engineer

Project Manager

DPP is seeking a Project Manager with process engineering experience for our client in the Beverage Manufacturing industry. This is a fully onsite direct placement position located in Charlotte, NC.

Position summary:

The Project Manager position requires a dynamic individual who can manage multiple projects, engage directly with clients, and have a hands-on approach to engineering solutions. Process engineers who also enjoy project work and interacting directly with customers are a good fit for this opportunity.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage approximately 10 custom projects simultaneously, with active management required for 2-3 projects at a time.
  • Work directly with customers to take projects from process design through to order, installation, and commissioning.
  • Engage in light design work and assist with equipment and process design.
  • Regularly interact with customers and assist them with custom equipment and process design.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite for project management tasks.
  • Manage capital projects and budgets, including the creation and management of Bill of Materials for custom projects.
  • Assist with design/equipment. Day is flexible depending on needs of customer and stages of the projects.
  • Travel approximately 25% of the time, which may include international travel. All travel expenses are covered.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with liquid handling systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge in pump sizing, heat exchanger sizing, pipe sizing, and experience with tank mixers.
  • Background in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics is beneficial.
  • Experience in sanitary equipment processes and hands-on mechanical work.
  • 3D modeling experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritize and organize tasks effectively.

Preferred background:

  • Mechanical or chemical engineering background, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in liquid or food process plants, or custom equipment manufacturing.
  • Ideal candidates are typically younger engineers, 3-5 years out of school, seeking to make a significant impact in a smaller company environment.
