Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced AutoCAD Specialist located in Charlotte, NC;
Greenville, SC;
Columbia, SC; or Charleston, SC. The role focuses on civil aspects of design, including grading, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure for Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics projects such as logistics centers and industrial facilities. The candidate will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, support hybrid work arrangements, and contribute to programmatic solutions in a dynamic environment.
- Perform routine and non‑routine drafting assignments using AutoCAD and related graphics software.
- Draft and design infrastructure projects (ports, civil, rail, roadways).
- Prepare designs for civil, building, earthworks, utilities, stormwater, and rail projects.
- Digitize or trace sketches from designers into CADD software.
- Complete complex assignments using multiple application platforms, including Revit.
- Own moderate‑difficulty design tasks with minimal supervision.
- Coordinate with technicians and other disciplines to produce design deliverables.
- Lead development of drawing packages for coherent functional plan sets.
- Prepare design submissions and other technical documents.
- Ensure design drawings comply with suggested data standards.
- Provide assistance to senior engineers and designers as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of related experience or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of civil CAD experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Ability to translate engineering specifications into drawings.
- Experience with infrastructure projects, utility profiles, and cross‑sections.
- Experience managing large site surface models.
- Experience on civil site master‑planning, conceptual and construction drawings.
- Proficiency with Revit.
- Desire to mentor junior staff and be mentored by leadership.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and follow‑through.
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively with technical teams.
- Passion for design in a collaborative, progressive environment.
Relocation assistance and US employment authorization sponsorship are not available. AECOM requires all new hires to attend in‑person onboarding at an AECOM office.
CompensationUSD 65,000 – 85,000 per year, based on education, experience, and location.
