We are seeking a high-caliber Electrical Engineer II–III to join our Charlotte-based team and lead the design of mission-critical systems. Core Responsibilities
- Design and integrate sophisticated electrical power, lighting, grounding, and fire alarm systems for complex new constructions and facility retrofits.
- Engineer secure communications infrastructure tailored to the rigorous operational requirements of military and federal installations.
- Prepare high-fidelity construction documents, including detailed drawings, technical specifications, complex calculations, and accurate cost estimations.
- Execute rigorous Quality Control (QC) reviews, providing technical guidance and design corrections to ensure every deliverable exceeds industry and federal benchmarks.
- Ensure absolute compliance with NEC, NFPA, and Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) standards, navigating the unique regulatory landscape of DoD projects.
- Synchronize with architectural, mechanical, and structural teams to deliver seamless, constructible designs for high-performance building environments.
- Oversee the transition from paper to pavement by supporting bid evaluations, responding to RFIs, and conducting onsite documentation to resolve field coordination challenges.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited institution.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in electrical system design and construction support within a consulting or AEC environment.
- Advanced command of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with discipline-specific electrical modeling software.
- Comprehensive understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA standards.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical data into clear reports and project documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (or the ability to obtain licensure via comity).
- Direct experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) or Federal facility projects.
- Familiarity with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and mission-critical military environments.
- LEED-AP certification or experience with sustainable design in federal applications.
