Healthcare Mechanical Engineer II Make an Impact
As a Healthcare Mechanical Engineer II, you will support our Health and Wellness team working on a variety of project types and sizes. You will have the opportunity to support plumbing, med-gas, and fire protection design as well as performing calculations, providing equipment selection, and supplying construction assistance for submittals and RFI's. This role will entail a high level of collaboration with other internal disciplines, external consultants, and clients or owner's representatives.
Deliver Results
- Prepare building models, detailed contract documents, construction documents, load analysis, equipment sizing, ductwork sizing, hydronic system design, plumbing design, fire suppression design, and specifications consistent with Progressive AE's standards.
- Establish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
- Determine and promote the best use of design software/technology, including Revit, AutoCAD, BSD Speclink and other emerging technologies, for presentation and production purposes.
- Coordinate technical components of projects with other internal disciplines and outside consultants to ensure that conflicts do not exist in the documents.
- Assist with engineering proposals and monitoring project budget and schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in engineering, drafting, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of post-graduate mechanical engineering design experience, including a strong background with healthcare projects.
- Ability to obtain Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Strong proficiency with Revit.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with current license.
- Experience with acute care, surgery centers, or behavioral health projects.
- Certified in Plumbing Design (CPD), ASSE 6060 Designer, or CSI-CDT.
- LEED AP BD+C and WELL AP certification.
- Membership at organizations such as American Society for Health Care Engineering (ASHE), Healthcare Engineering Alliance Society (HEALS), or similar and their local chapters.
- NCEES registration or NSPE membership.
- Experience in Microsoft Project, SharePoint, and Teams.
