Education:

ASAP through approx Q1 of 2027, could be longer
Travel Requirements:
Must be able to travel 30 mins to 1 hour of the Charlotte, NC area and approx 2.5 to VA.
Work Schedule:
60 hours/week working with construction crews.Primary Responsibilities
Field Engineering & Construction Support
- Provide field engineering support for LV/MV electrical distribution, switch gear, MCCs, VFDs, transformers, protective relays, UPS, grounding, lighting, and heat trace systems.
- Provide technical oversight of electrically driven compression equipment, turbine-powered generator systems, and associated auxiliary electrical systems.
- Coordinate electrical work with mechanical, civil, instrumentation, and commissioning teams.
- Review and respond to electrical RFIs; support field changes and engineering clarifications.
- Verify installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Coordinate with I&C personnel during construction and startup; review wiring and control drawings for field installation.
- Support PLC, SCADA, HMI, and communication system integration and checkout.
- Verify instrument power, control wiring, and communication networks are correctly installed; support functional testing ahead of startup.
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, electrical walkdowns, and punch list development.
- Coordinate energization; witness electrical testing and equipment startup.
- Support functional testing and startup of electrical and control systems, and assist with turnover documentation and project closeout.
- Maintain electrical redline drawings and RFI logs; document field changes.
- Review contractor turnover documentation and verify electrical test reports.
- Track equipment deliveries/installation status and support as-built documentation.
- Experience supporting construction, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems on heavy industrial capital projects (compressor stations, pipeline facilities, gas processing plants, power generation facilities, or similar).
- Experience with medium-voltage electrical distribution systems.
- Experience with industrial control systems (PLC/SCADA/HMI or similar).
- Experience with rotating equipment (compressors, generators, turbines, or large motors).
- Natural gas compressor stations or pipeline facilities specifically
- LNG or gas processing facilities
- Electrically driven compression systems
- Turbine generator packages
- Direct commissioning/startup role (vs. design or O&M) on an industrial facility
