About

The Role

As a Natural Resources Project Manager, you'll lead a variety of environmental and natural resource projects from early planning through completion, balancing regulatory compliance, technical quality, client needs, and team coordination. This role blends fieldwork and office responsibilities and requires close collaboration with regulatory agencies, clients, and internal teams. You'll play a key role in delivering sustainable solutions while supporting project performance, safety, and professional growth within the team.

  • Project Management & Delivery: Manage natural resources projects from proposal development through execution, including scopes, schedules, budgets, and client communication to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Regulatory Coordination & Permitting: Coordinate with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies to evaluate jurisdictional waters, support environmental permitting efforts, and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Field Investigations & Assessments: Conduct and oversee wetland delineations, stream determinations, mitigation support, ecological assessments, and protected species surveys as needed.
  • Team Leadership &

    Collaboration:

    Work alongside and mentor technical staff, ensuring safety, quality standards, and operational objectives are met while coordinating with other service lines to support project needs.
  • Client & Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong client relationships, provide regular project updates, and represent the company in professional and community settings to support business development and visibility.
About You
  • You have a Bachelor's degree in Biological or Environmental Sciences from an accredited college or university.
  • You have 4+ years of experience with wetland delineations, stream determinations, environmental permitting, mitigation, protected species surveys, and ecological surveys, and previous experience in the southeast U.S. (GIS experience and/or knowledge).
  • Demonstrated successful team leadership and management at a project level with a good understanding of safety policies/procedures, quality, business metrics, human resources policies/procedures, and risk management concepts.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for clients, staff, and regulatory personnel.
You Are Willing and Able to

Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment, such as:

  • Working the majority of the time outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing for potentially up to 12 hours a day.
  • Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment).
  • Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites.
