Be part of building something extraordinary
At HSP US, we're looking for motivated, goal-oriented engineering professionals who want to grow their careers while contributing to high-impact work in the energy sector. If you're energized by technical problem-solving, customer collaboration, and creating tailored engineering solutions, this role is for you. As a fast-growing operation, we are building state-of-the-art production capabilities, cutting-edge processes, and a high-performance culture centered around quality, safety, and innovation.
Joining our team means being part of a once-in-a-generation start-up environment where you help lay the foundation for operational excellence for years to come.
As a Test Lab Technician, you play a key role in validating the performance, reliability, and safety of high-voltage equipment and systems. You'll set up and operate specialized test equipment, conduct electrical and mechanical tests, collect and analyze data, and prepare accurate test reports. Working closely with engineering, quality, and production teams, you'll help ensure products meet customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory expectations.
If you enjoy hands-on technical work, problem-solving, and producing reliable test results, you'll thrive in this role.
- Test execution and conduct high voltage tests according to established procedures and standards as determined by technical documentation and guidance of test lab managing team. This includes setting up and calibrating test equipment, applying high voltage, and monitoring equipment performance.
- Accurately record test data for analysis. This includes measurements of voltage, current, and time, as well as any observations during the test.
- Prepare test reports that include a summary of the test procedures, data, and results. Communicate results effectively to engineers, other team members, and supervisors.
- Create and develop test procedures and protocols for high voltage equipment.
- Ensure and follow all safety procedures when handling high voltage equipment. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and ensuring that all safety interlocks and procedures are followed.
- Verify the safety and efficiency of test lab environment for other team members.
- Evaluate test results and assess the performance of the equipment under test.
- Provide support and assistance in laboratory environments with assembly of test products and objects.
- Monitor the condition of test equipment and facilities to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Report any issues or anomalies detected during testing to the appropriate personnel.
- Support the team in achieving daily production quotas.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related field; or a community college diploma or associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from a recognized institution is required.
- Knowledge of high-voltage products, dielectric testing, and manufacturing or production processes is preferred.
- Active listening and effective communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of root cause analysis techniques.
- Ability to analyze test data, perform basic electrical calculations, recognize abnormal trends or waveforms, investigate test anomalies, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Demonstrated safety awareness, including adherence to lockout/tagout requirements, grounding and discharge practices, equipment interlocks, restricted-area controls, personal protective equipment, and pre-test safety checks.
- Commitment to accurate, traceable documentation, including equipment identification, calibration status, environmental conditions, test settings, measured values, observations, deviations, and final results.
- Ability to follow written procedures precisely, maintain an organized work area, manage multiple test priorities, and stop work when an unsafe condition, equipment concern, or questionable result is identified.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment.
- Experience using and safely connecting electrical test instruments such as oscilloscopes, impedance analyzers, voltage breakdown testers, power meters, micro-ohmmeters, multimeters, capacitance and power-factor test sets, and partial-discharge measuring equipment is preferred.
- Two or more years of relevant hands-on experience with low-voltage or high-voltage circuits, electrical testing, laboratory work, commissioning, maintenance, or troubleshooting is preferred.
- Strong critical-thinking skills and foundational knowledge of electrical quantities, electromagnetic theory, circuit analysis, insulation systems, and the relationships among voltage, current, resistance, capacitance, inductance, power, and frequency are required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, and the Windows operating…
