Drainage Engineer P.E.

DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated Drainage Engineer, P.E. to continue your stormwater focus and advance your career. The position is located in the Charlotte, NC office and involves a variety of urban stormwater and roadway projects.
What You’ll Do:- Produce drainage design drawings and prepare specifications.
- Conduct engineering investigations and plan work, including data collection and analysis, drainage engineering calculations, and evaluation of alternate solutions.
- Prepare assigned sections of reports under close review, working under the supervision of senior Professional Engineers.
- Assist engineers with hydrology and hydraulics design, water quality analysis, technical memorandums and reports, and review of related environmental regulations.
- Prepare engineering calculations and plans using Micro Station, Geopak, Excel, GIS, and other engineering software.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Professional Engineering Registration in the State.
- 5+ years of progressive transportation design experience.
- Experience in drainage and stormwater engineering for transportation projects.
- Proficiency in drainage design software such as ICPR, HEC‑RAS, HY‑8, GEOPAK Drainage, Civil 3D, or Open Roads Drainage.
- Demonstrated knowledge of DOT design standards and specifications.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sense of urgency and self‑initiative to meet client deadlines.
- Detail‑oriented team player who contributes to a positive work environment.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
