CDM Smith is growing in North Carolina.

In this role you will join our Charlotte, North Carolina operations as a Senior Water/Wastewater Project Manager and will have excellent client interaction skills, lead planning and design teams for multi-discipline projects, and manage programs in the fields of large diameter conveyance, water distribution and wastewater collection, water and wastewater pumping systems, water/wastewater treatment and residuals/biosolids projects in North Carolina.

Responsibilities
  • Manage water/wastewater design, permitting, and construction services from early concept development through construction.
  • Lead project teams and mentor junior staff, including coordination and review of project assignments.
  • Collaborate with technical specialists, project team members, and delivery managers.
  • Assist with preparation of design drawings and specifications on large, complex, multi-discipline design projects.
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage project budgets and schedules while managing the firm’s risk.
  • Provide high-level planning and program analysis work including preparation of technical documents/reports.
  • Stay active in the water/wastewater industry, keeping abreast of emerging technologies and professional society involvement.
  • Assist in new business development by contributing to strategic planning, marketing, and business operations planning.
  • Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to client requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Review draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local, and federal regulations and best practices.
  • Interface with clients and government officials to clarify technical questions and provide updates to upper management.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 10 years of related experience.
  • PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list).
  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required. Travel frequency depends on duties and project demands.
  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental or chemical engineering.
  • Professional engineering (PE) license.
  • Project management experience on water/wastewater treatment and infrastructure design projects in North Carolina.
  • Alternative project delivery experience.
Travel

Amount of travel required: 10% or less.
