Job Description & How to Apply Below

Build Your Technical Expertise. Own Your Work. Grow Into Leadership.

At InServ, we solve some of the most technically demanding industrial construction challenges in the Southeast. Our clients trust us to deliver complex mechanical, process, and high-purity piping systems where precision, planning, and technical expertise matter. We're looking for a Project Engineer who is curious, analytical, and motivated to understand how things work and how to make them work better.

If you enjoy solving problems, digging into the details, and taking ownership of challenging work, this is an opportunity to build your expertise while developing the skills to become a future project leader.

WHY THIS ROLE STANDS OUT

This isn't a role where you'll simply push paperwork from one desk to another.

You'll be involved in the technical and operational side of real industrial construction projects, reviewing drawings and specifications, working through constructability challenges, and helping solve problems in the field.

You'll work directly with experienced Project Managers, Superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors. You'll see how technical decisions affect cost, schedule, quality, and ultimately the success of a project.

Most importantly, you'll be given real responsibility and the opportunity to grow.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

As a Project Engineer, you'll take ownership of assigned project scope and help drive it through successful completion.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements
  • Identifying technical, design, and constructability issues and helping develop practical solutions
  • Supporting project planning, construction methods, and execution strategies
  • Coordinating with Project Managers, Superintendents, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Preparing material takeoffs, quantity estimates, purchase requisitions, and procurement documentation
  • Managing submittals, shop drawings, technical documentation, and project records
  • Supporting RFQs, change orders, extra work orders, and back charges
  • Identifying quality, and performance issues before they become bigger problems

    Supporting project turnover and closeout
  • Communicating effectively across office, field, client, and vendor teams
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for someone who wants to become an expert: the person others turn to when a project gets complicated. You need to be someone who is willing to ask questions, dig into a problem, learn from experienced professionals, and take ownership when something needs to get done.

You’ll bring:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field; or relevant construction experience
  • 2+ years of experience in industrial construction, engineering, project coordination, or related project execution
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
  • The ability to interpret drawings, specifications, contracts, schedules, and technical documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to prioritize competing demands and follow work through to completion
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction project management systems
  • A genuine interest in learning the technical and commercial side of industrial construction
WHY BUILD YOUR CAREER AT INSERV?

At InServ, you'll work alongside experienced professionals who value preparation, collaboration, technical expertise, and doing the job right the first time.

You’ll find:

  • Technically sophisticated industrial construction projects
  • The opportunity to work across life sciences, advanced manufacturing, food & beverage, and other demanding industries
  • Experienced leaders who will challenge and develop you
  • Increasing responsibility as your capabilities grow
  • Opportunities to build both technical and project management expertise
  • A culture focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Competitive compensation
  • 401(k)
  • Paid Time Off
  • Tuition Reimbursement
