Role and ResponsibilitiesThe essential roles and responsibilities are outlined below:
- Work with Divisional Leadership Team to generate, evaluate, and analyze operational plans and processes in order to achieve corporate goals and objectives.
- Provide overall leadership and management of all quality-related issues for the Mechanical Division.
- Work with the Divisional Leadership Team in the development, implementation and ongoing management of consistent operational practices.
- Evaluate and assess the cost effectiveness and profitability of projects.
- Determine whether the estimates are accurate and provide education/feedback to the Divisional Leadership Team when they aren’t.
- Coordinate with Preconstruction to prepare estimates and bids and determine how to go to market.
- Work with Pre-Construction team on specific projects regarding a constructability approach with equipment needed, manpower and staging.
- Provide feedback to Engineering and Pre-construction on actual construction practices and manpower used versus the way it is estimated. Conduct and/or review cost analysis by assessing material, labor, and overhead costs captured in the estimate.
- Work with Project Managers to develop, and manage Project Specific Quality Control Plans.
- Perform quality control inspections as needed.
- Develop policies and practices to ensure all work meets or exceeds the contract specifications and contractor’s standard of excellence.
