Data Center Operating Engineer

Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc. is seeking a Data Center Operating Engineer to operate and maintain critical infrastructure in a mission critical facility. In this on-site role, you will monitor and service HVAC, electrical, UPS, generator, and fire/life safety systems to ensure continuous uptime for high-profile clients. Responsibilities include inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting alarms and incidents, coordinating vendors, and rigorously documenting work.

You'll support safety, reliability, and sustainability initiatives in a performance-driven, collaborative culture with opportunities for growth in commercial real estate and facilities management.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain data center critical infrastructure systems, including HVAC, electrical, UPS, and fire/life safety equipment
• Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance to ensure continuous uptime and reliability
• Respond to and troubleshoot alarms, equipment failures, and incidents following established procedures
• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams for repairs, upgrades, and planned shutdowns
• Document work orders, maintenance records, and equipment performance metrics accurately
• Support energy efficiency, sustainability, and reliability initiatives within the facility
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards and protocols
• Participate in on-call rotation and support 24/7 operations as needed
