Structural Engineer Intern
Internship Dates: 5/24/2-8/6/27
As a Structural Engineer Intern at Steel Fab, you'll work closely with our Engineering and Modeling teams and participate in a variety of projects that will deepen your understanding of the structural steel industry. Throughout the internship, you'll take on a range of responsibilities designed to enhance your skills and broaden your experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze structural and architectural drawings to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in the design of bolted and welded connections for both gravity and lateral force-resisting systems.
- Learn and apply code requirements for wind and seismic lateral systems
- Collaborate with the Detailing team to design and model connections in a 3D environment.
- Develop detailed site erection plans
- Review fabrication and erection drawings to ensure they meet project requirements.
- Partner with the Software Development team to innovate and improve design technology and contribute to the advancement of industry practices.
- Fabrication Shop Week:
Gain hands-on experience with Steel Fab's fabrication flow and production processes, deepening your understanding of the entire construction lifecycle.

Major:
Civil Engineering with a focus on Structures
Required:
Strong interest or experience in the engineering and construction industry. Competency in PDF's, Microsoft Excel and Word, common computer skills
Preferred:
Passed EIT exam or scheduled to take exam prior to graduation
