Structural Connection Design Engineer
As a Structural Connection Design Engineer at Steel Fab, you'll design the bolted and welded connections that form dynamic structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly assess contract structural and architectural documents to identify and clarify design requirements.
- Analyze load cases and combinations
- Evaluate connection options to find a balance of strength, economy, and ease of construction.
- Design high-strength bolted connections.
- Engineer welded connections.
- Utilize structural software (RAM, Risa, Bentley Structural, etc.) to analyze joints and connections.
- Create and coordinate 3D models using Tekla Structures, Revit, and other advanced software.
- Provide engineering support the shop fabrication process, ensuring designs are executed flawlessly.
- Offer on-the-ground engineering support during field erection activities.
- Evaluate projects for opportunities to enhance value and constructability.
- Attend design progress meetings, coordinating with General Contractors, Architects, and Structural Engineers to keep everyone aligned.

Qualifications and Requirements
Major: Civil Engineering
Required: Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field. Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam. Proficiency in MS Excel and structural analysis software.
