Water Resources Engineering Intern Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to work on a variety of water resources related projects in our Charlotte, NC office. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join a team of outstanding professionals. The intern will get the opportunity to work on design of treatment works and analyze hydrologic and hydraulic models and computations for storm water and watershed master planning, stream restoration, and water quality studies.

Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Currently pursuing a B.S. in Civil, Environmental or related Engineering degree
  • Prior working experience with water or wastewater utilities is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of GIS and AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Experience in Microsoft office is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and posses excellent interpersonal skills.

Summer Intern Program

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands‑on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full‑time employee.

Our interns get the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and events, including:
