Position Overview

We have an immediate opportunity for an Electrical Engineer with experience working on Water/Wastewater projects. This career growth opportunity is with an established, full-service civil engineering firm. The Electrical Project Engineer will play a vital role in the completion of water/wastewater engineering projects throughout North Carolina. You will be working on water/ wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, etc.

Responsibilities
  • Work with project managers, clients, conduct evaluations, prepare reports, detailed specifications, drawings, permitting, submittals, etc.
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, modifications, changes, etc.
  • Conduct site visits, participate in client meetings, etc.
Required Experience
  • 5 – 15 years of electrical engineering, water/wastewater project experience.
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain is highly preferred.
  • Managing multiple projects, tasks, assignments, etc.
  • Medium voltage and low voltage electrical distribution systems (i.e. Motor Control Centers, Generators, Switchgears, etc.).
  • Diagrams (single line, motor elementary, instrument loop wiring).
  • Electrical Area classification and ability to specify electrical equipment.
  • Emergency backup systems.
  • Spec Sizer (Caterpiller) or Powersuite (Cummins).
  • Designing full emergency backup systems.
  • Knowledge of the NEC and NFPA 780.

    Skills:

    AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical (or Revit), Arc Flash software (eTap or SKM).
