$80.00/hr - $90.00/hr

Primary Talent Partners has a 12-month contract opening for a Discipline Engineer - Transmission Linesto join a large utilities company for hybrid position operating out of Charlotte, NC.

Pay:$80.00/hr - $90.00/hr
Contract:12 months, conversion possible
Type:W-2, cannot support C2C or provide visa sponsorship
Hybrid:
Onsite 3 days per week
Transportation:Occasional field work at client construction sites. The candidate must have their own transportation, but all mileage will be reimbursed by the client. Hotels/other expenses can be reimbursed with approval.



Position Overview :
Primary Talent Partners is seeking two experienced Discipline Engineers to support transmission line design projects in the Carolinas West region. This hybrid role requires in-depth knowledge of transmission line engineering principles and the ability to work independently on complex engineering tasks.

You will lead the planning, analysis, and design of transmission lines, provide technical guidance, and contribute to the successful execution of high-impact projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide engineering expertise and leadership for transmission line design projects.
  • Perform advanced design calculations and evaluate scenarios in compliance with engineering standards and codes.
  • Support routing, siting, and structural design of transmission structures and foundations.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, reports, calculations, and drawings.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple design projects with minimal supervision.
  • Conduct engineering studies and recommend improvements to design processes and standards.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders from various backgrounds.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited program).
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience in engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in transmission line engineering.

  • ***** Professional Engineer (PE) license
    is required
  • Proficiency in transmission design software including:
    • PLS-CADD
    • PLS-TOWER
    • PLS-Pole
    • Foundation design software
  • Strong foundation in engineering theories and problem-solving.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in the utility/energy industry preferred.
