Position Overview
Transportation Planning Project Manager – responsible for leading transportation and environmental projects, managing budgets, schedules, staff, and business development. The role supports HDR’s Transportation Business Group across North Carolina and contributes to the design of resilient infrastructure, transit, and marine projects.
Responsibilities- Work as a member of our transportation planning section.
- Provide technical expertise at project level and assist with growing HDR’s transportation planning and environmental services program.
- Take responsibility for project management and staff management, as well as marketing, business development and client management.
- Establish sequencing of environmental tasks/projects, from financial management of project through successful completion, utilizing our technology, standards and project delivery practices.
- Plan and direct medium‑to‑large environmental/planning tasks/projects for core business groups.
- Prepare, plan and analyze/review technical studies, NEPA/SEPA documents and similar reports/documents.
- Accomplish work independently and through coordinating or supervising small to large technical and professional teams.
- Support regional and national projects in specific areas of technical expertise and be closely involved in public participation and multiple agency coordination.
- Take responsibility for project management, including development and management of project budgets, schedules and quality of products.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- PE license, local candidates are preferred.
- AICP certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 7 years related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years project management experience.
- Ability to interact with various design teams, with excellent organizational, project management and communication skills.
