CDM Smith is looking for a Civil Engineer to join our Water Services Team!

In this role, you will develop basic‑complexity engineering designs for a variety of water, wastewater, and infrastructure projects under direct supervision.

• Developing site layouts and grading plans, drainage designs, hydraulics and hydrology calculations, water distribution and collection systems, storage tanks and impoundments, foundation designs, stormwater infrastructure and treatment systems, and occasional single‑story structures.
• Reviewing designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while ensuring firm policies and engineering practices are followed.
• Performing site reviews and studies to evaluate project conditions and update design requirements as needed.
• Preparing technical documentation and contributing to the firm’s knowledge‑sharing efforts, including white papers and documentation for new or specialized designs and studies.
• Supporting the development of technical papers, presentations, and conference materials to share project work and technical expertise.
• Performs other duties as required.

Basic Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Basic Knowledge of engineer principles of design. Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Good verbal and written communication skills.

Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
