Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to serve as a Senior Project Manager within our Industrial Water Treatment and Optimization (IWTO)/Arcadis Construction Services (ACS) team in North Carolina. This role will support multiple water and wastewater treatment design and construction projects throughout North Carolina and across the United States. The position will be based in our Cary or Charlotte, North Carolina office.

The IWTO group currently has two large projects in NC. The successful candidate will be part of the project team on these projects and should expect 25% travel within the state to visit these project sites as well as to visit clients in NC. The IWTO team serves clients throughout the US. As such, the successful client should expect to also be involved with projects outside of NC.This

Role accountabilities:

This is a dynamic, fast-paced role requiring a Senior Project Manager who is comfortable managing multiple complex design, permitting, and construction projects while developing and maintaining strong client relationships. As this candidate will also be a Civil Engineer, they will also at times have Civil Engineering responsibilities on projects. This could entail serving the Civil discipline lead, SME, or QA/QC on design projects.

Senior project manager accountabilities:

Manage multiple design and construction projects for a variety of clients ranging from concept design to design/build, with focus on industrial wastewater.

Prepare and manage solicitations and selection processes for related project vendors and/or suppliers, General Contractors, etc.

Oversee and manage the project design process to ensure the client’s needs are met within the proposed budget and schedule. Assist in the development of the design meetings, monitor design progress and facilitate decision making, prepare written review comments at submittal phases, facilitate value engineering workshops, and other project components as needed to assure a successful outcome

Knowledgeable in organizing and/or leading the pre-construction meetings, participating in weekly construction meetings, visit site(s) to monitor construction progress, processing ASIs/RFIs, review/process subcontractor and vendor invoices, review and negotiate change order requests, prepare contract amendments, prepare monthly project status reports, monitor the project schedule, budget, and risk management, maintain document control files, and general project close-out activities

Provide on-site construction QA when necessary to ensure the project is being constructed per the design and specifications

Review subcontractor-submitted schedules, provide feedback to the Owner on construction progress, and make corrective action recommendations to the Owner and subcontractors should critical path schedule delays…
