A Snapshot of Your DayTo support the strategic start-up, stabilization, and scale-up of the Power Transformers manufacturing operations in Charlotte, this critical leadership role is established to implement standardized manufacturing processes and drive execution excellence. The position directly accelerates production ramp-up, reduces process variability, and ensures compliance with EHS and Quality requirements during this crucial factory expansion. To address these business aims, the role focuses on process standardization, technology transfer from established Siemens Energy facilities, and structured workforce development.
These core areas directly support production reliability, first-pass yield optimization, and the mitigation of start-up operational risks. Given the focus on engineering leadership and process optimization, the ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in power transformer manufacturing processes, process engineering management, and lean manufacturing methodologies. A strong background in leading technology transfers and scaling manufacturing operations is essential for success.
- Lead technology transfer of manufacturing processes from established Siemens Energy facilities to the Charlotte plant and implement standardized manufacturing processes, operational controls, and SOPs.
- Identify and eliminate manufacturing bottlenecks to improve process reliability, increase throughput, and support on-time delivery performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) while optimizing manufacturing methods to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Improve first-pass yield and minimize rework and scrap while ensuring compliance with EHS regulations and quality management system requirements.
- Manage, mentor, and develop the process engineering team, strengthening technical expertise, process ownership, and organizational capability.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Test Field, and Logistics teams to align operational strategies and implement workforce development and training programs that accelerate employee proficiency.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with 8-10 years of process engineering experience in heavy manufacturing, preferably within power transformer production.
- Proven leadership experience with 3-5 years managing engineering teams, ideally supporting factory start-ups, production scale-ups, or manufacturing technology transfers.
- Strong expertise in power transformer manufacturing processes, process engineering, optimization, and technology transfer methodologies.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in people management, team development, cross-functional collaboration, and change management.
- Advanced knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control (SPC), root cause analysis, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Professional certifications such as Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
