Operations Coordinator

UNC Charlotte is hiring an Operations Coordinator. The role involves overseeing evening and weekend building operations, managing outdoor and indoor event logistics, coordinating student employees, and collaborating with multiple departments to ensure successful event execution and high-quality customer service.

• Oversee evening and weekend building operations with a focus on safety and customer service.
• Coordinate outdoor event operations and support events in venues like McKnight Hall and 49th Acre.
• Manage 20-30 student employees through hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, and evaluation.
• Collaborate with Reservations, Facilities, AV/Tech Services, and Administration teams for seamless event execution.
• Administer event logistics including scheduling, client communication, room setups, and risk management.
• Maintain inventory and operational equipment under Assistant Director's direction.
• Serve as a mandatory employee during inclement weather and support building operations as needed.
• Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, valid driver's license, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
• Preferred experience includes higher education event management, managing student staff, and hands‑on event operations with setups like stages and tents.
• Pay range is $20-$22 per hour for this temporary full-time position with a flexible schedule focusing on afternoons, evenings, late nights, and weekends.
