About the Role
Global manufacturing company is seeking a Plant Controller to provide strategic financial input to senior leaders and maintain the financial health of the company. The Controller responsibilities include ownership of tracking/monitoring expenditures, forecasting, budgeting, cost tracking and analysis.
Primary Responsibilities- Monitor and track facility expenditures related to maintenance, consumables, services, and capital projects
- Develop and maintain monthly cost dashboards, including trends, variances, and cost drivers
- Identify areas of high spending, unusual cost patterns, and potential cost escalation risks
- Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and Procurement teams to analyze cost drivers and identify improvement opportunities
- Prepare forecasts and rolling outlooks for maintenance, consumables, and capital expenditures
- Lead budget-to-actual variance analysis and facilitate root cause discussions
- Track and validate savings from cost-reduction initiatives
- Prepare and present weekly financial forecasts
- Manage month-end close processes
- Develop annual budgets and multi-month financial forecasts
- Present financial results to site leadership and senior management
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts
- Cross-train site personnel to ensure coverage during absences
- Review and approve expenditures
- Coordinate and reconcile physical inventory counts
- Materials and inventory management
- Provide support during audits
- Monitor construction-in-progress accounts for proper capitalization
- Prepare property and sales tax filings
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
- Demonstrate company values including commitment, action orientation, innovation, and accessibility
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent
- Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing plant environment
- Proficiency in or ability to quickly learn accounting, database, and manufacturing software systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong time management and organizational abilities
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and conscientious
- Ability to travel as needed
