Description Of WorkThis position is responsible for managing federal grant accounting and compliance within the agency’s financial operations. The role ensures accurate tracking, reporting, and reconciliation of grant funds in accordance with state and federal regulations. It involves coordinating with internal teams and external partners to maintain fiscal integrity and timely submission of required documentation. The position requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial systems to support program objectives.
KeyDuties Include
- Maintain accurate accounting records for federal grant funds in compliance with applicable regulations.
- Prepare and submit timely financial reports to federal and state oversight agencies.
- Reconcile grant accounts and resolve discrepancies through detailed analysis.
- Monitor grant expenditures to ensure alignment with approved budgets and funding requirements.
- Coordinate with program staff to provide financial guidance and ensure proper documentation.
- Review and approve grant‑related transactions for accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in developing and implementing internal controls for grant management processes.
- Respond to audit inquiries and provide supporting documentation as required.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Support year‑end close activities and assist with preparation of financial statements.
The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:
- Experience applying in‑depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Documented experience applying analytical skills in a financially related environment.
- Demonstrated self‑starter and capable of performing job requirements with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
