Staff Accountant

Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their finance team. This role reports directly to the Director of FP&A and plays a key part in month‑end close, balance sheet ownership, and financial reporting. You’ll collaborate cross‑functionally, support ERP process improvements, and help ensure accurate, timely financial data.

• Own key month‑end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
• Reconcile AP, AR, bank accounts, credit cards
  , and major balance sheet accounts
• Maintain fixed assets
  , depreciation, amortization, and sale‑leaseback schedules
• Prepare roll‑forwards and variance analysis for monthly financial statements
• Accrue payroll, rebates, freight, consignments, and other operational expenses
• Support sales & use tax and Canadian HST/GST filings and accruals
• Download and validate ERP data for financial reporting and modeling
• Assist with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
• Partner with the finance team to improve ERP processes and documentation

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
  , or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of progressive staff accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
  , month‑end close, and balance sheet ownership
• ERP experience required (JD Edwards/E1 a plus;
  SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 strongly preferred)
• Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, models, data analysis)
• Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset
• Detail‑oriented, analytical, and high integrity
• Comfortable working in Microsoft Teams and One Drive (or similar tools)
