Job Summary

The Horizon Eye Care Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a senior executive responsible for managing a company’s financial actions, including financial strategic planning, risk management, record-keeping, and financial reporting. They oversee the accounting department, develop strategies for long-term growth, manage cash flow, and report to the Board to align financial goals with business objectives. The CFO will have a day‑to‑day, ongoing impact on company operations, helping us to analyze, strategize, and grow our financial position.

This seasoned strategist not only will understand current accounting practices and trends but also will have experience adapting to change and working with fast‑paced physician‑led organizations. As a member of senior management, the CFO will be comfortable in a leadership role that requires clear and effective communication skills.

Duties
  • Develop and execute strategic and operational financial plans, forecasting, and budgeting to drive profitability and maximize shareholder return.
  • Ensure cash flow is compatible with operations by overseeing day‑to‑day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal‑control activities of the organization.
  • Collaborate with other members of the HEC leadership team to drive results.
  • Oversee the preparation of accurate, timely financial statements, tax returns, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare monthly financial packages, conduct financial analyses, and execute physician compensation plans.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the company’s fiscal health.
  • Manage external banking, tax, and accounting relationships.
  • Manage accounting and internal control departments.
Qualifications
  • Education:

    A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or economics is required; a Master’s degree (MBA) or CPA is highly preferred.
  • Experience:

    Extensive experience in executive financial roles, with M&A experience considered a plus.
  • Skills:

    Strong analytical, leadership, personal integrity, and communication skills, with proficiency in financial software and data analysis tools.
  • Demonstrated ability in negotiation, business development, and strategic decision‑making at the executive level.
  • Excellent communication skills for interpreting complex financial reports clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
