Financial Analyst - M&A/Strategy

We are partnering with a large privately held manufacturer that has stood the test of time. This role will be part of the group that supports the CEO and CFO. It will require the individual to continuously think on their feet and be put in unique situations that involve developing strategy, starting up new locations from a finance perspective, joint venture work, long‑term supplier negotiations, and utilizing modeling tools to make business decisions. They offer an above average compensation package that includes salary, bonus, profit sharing, and large 401(k) match.

DESCRIPTION
  • Produce internal business cases to drive actionable recommendations in product development and engineering initiatives
  • Work with complex, driver‑based, flexible financial models to provide scenario and what‑if analytics.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Company financial planning and budget. Scope may include components of: system preparation, sales, gross profit, operating expenses, administrative expenses, capital expenditures, balance sheet, and cash flow.
  • Analyze the performance of the Company’s assets and prepare relevant metrics, dashboards and reports to highlight results, issues and recommended actions
  • Research the financial implications of acquisitions, divestitures and refinancing transactions
  • Develop financial models and dashboards on an ad hoc basis to provide insights and recommendations to business partners to enable data driven decision making
  • Support initial financial modeling and analysis of business development opportunities including: generating financial statements, NPV calculations, and discounted cash flow analysis.
  • Consult with management to guide and influence long term and strategic decision making within the broadest scope.
  • Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function.
  • Ad‑hoc projects and deal support - be prepared for new initiatives and flexible with changes
BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE
  • 4-year degree in either Accounting or Finance
  • 2+ years of experience from either public accounting, investment banking, M&A, or a manufacturing company
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present ideas in front of executive management in a clear, crisp, and concise way.
  • Strong Excel skills with an emphasis in analyzing data in a way that one can tell a story from the numbers.
