Financial Analyst, Corporate Finance
Patriot Capital is seeking an Analyst or Associate to join our team in the Charlotte office. The position is an excellent opportunity to participate firsthand in the firm’s investing activities, including evaluating and conducting due diligence on new investments and supporting the firm’s portfolio management functions for its existing portfolio. Founded in 2000, the Patriot Capital Group has invested over $1.3 billion across six SBIC funds in more than 165 lower-middle-market businesses, offering the opportunity to join and learn alongside an established, industry-respected team.
Responsibilities- Build financial models and in-depth analyses to evaluate potential investment opportunities
- Prepare new deal executive summaries and investment committee memorandums
- Conduct due diligence, including risk assessment, sensitivity analysis and market and competitive analysis
- Monitor portfolio companies, including tracking performance, reporting and valuations, and supporting value-creation initiatives such as add-on acquisitions, KPI management and growth strategy
- Assist with ad hoc requests related to investor relations and fundraising
- Participate in meetings with management teams, sponsors, co-investors, lenders, intermediaries and other Patriot stakeholders
- Participate in Patriot's AI implementation efforts across origination, underwriting and portfolio management
- 2-4 years of relevant experience in private equity, investment banking, investing, lending, transaction advisory services or other financial services activities
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, including analyzing financial statements and preparing financial models
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines and juggle several tasks simultaneously

Patriot operates offices in Baltimore, Charlotte, Chicago and Dallas. The investment team comprises nine professionals (two in Charlotte), supported by a four-person finance and admin team, all working closely across offices.
Patriot Capital is part of AP Management Company, a diversified financial and investment advisory firm that includes the Patriot family of funds, Bengur Bryan & Company, a boutique middle-market investment banking firm, and Exeter Street Capital Partners, an opportunistic lower-middle-market buyout strategy. While this role is within Patriot Capital, the individual will have exposure to the broad array of investing and advisory services within AP Management.
