Operations Analyst
The Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting portfolio accounting operations, investment data management, client reporting, and process improvement initiatives. This role works closely with client service, investment, and operations teams to ensure accurate reporting, efficient workflows, and effective management of alternative investment data.
Key Responsibilities- Manage operational processes within Addepar, the firm's supplemental portfolio accounting platform.
- Partner with client-facing teams to onboard client relationships with complex alternative investment holdings.
- Lead alternative investment transaction back-build activities for complex portfolios.
- Collaborate with investment teams to establish and maintain alternative asset records to support timely and accurate reporting.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports for client portfolios.
- Analyze portfolio positions, transactions, performance data, and other investment-related information.
- Investigate reporting discrepancies and operational issues; recommend and implement corrective actions.
- Participate in projects focused on enhancing reporting capabilities, operational efficiency, and strategic initiatives.
- Document operational procedures, controls, and data governance standards.
- Conduct industry research and remain informed about market trends, investment products, and operational best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent relevant work experience may be considered.
- Experience using Addepar and Canoe.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as VLOOKUP, formulas, and macros.
- Understanding of alternative investments, including private equity, hedge funds, and real assets.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
- Effective research, time management, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with Advent/APX, eFront, or similar portfolio accounting and reporting platforms.
- Experience with client reporting, firm reporting, or investment operations reporting.
- Knowledge of portfolio accounting, investment performance reporting, and financial data management.
- Familiarity with market mechanics and investment operations processes.
