Position OverviewResponsible for managing a designated commercial investment real estate loan portfolio, including portfolio management, credit underwriting, construction monitoring, and ensuring compliance with bank and regulatory guidelines. Oversees the quality of underwriting and ongoing portfolio management metrics. Assists commercial relationship managers in client relationship management while maintaining high standards of credit integrity. Acts as a mentor to junior team members and works on loans and portfolios of medium complexity with some oversight.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Underwrite, monitor, and analyze assigned investment real estate portfolio, ensuring risks are identified timely and underwriting quality meets the bank’s risk appetite and regulatory standards.
- Lead complex transactions, including construction loans and large developments, demonstrating clear communication and providing recommendations on credit structure, risk, policy compliance, and rating.
- Monitor portfolio performance against acceptable tolerances and published KPIs/KRIs.
- Assist commercial relationship managers in client relationship management, optimizing client interactions directly with relationship managers.
- Maintain satisfactory reviews by regulators, internal and external auditors, and loan review teams through depth of underwriting, policy exception identification, and stress analysis.
- Collaborate with management on group-wide initiatives to enhance processes, roles, responsibilities, and output.
- Present credit actions in written analysis documents and verbally at committees and meetings.
- Perform other related duties and projects as assigned.
