Operating at the unique intersection of a high‑growth fintech and a nationally chartered bank, this role is far more than traditional budgeting. You will act as a vital strategic partner to our executive team, turning complex financial data into actionable, forward‑looking insights that scale our business responsibly.

How You’ll Make An Impact- Strategic Financial Leadership:
Own the enterprise‑wide annual budgeting, rolling forecasting, and long‑range strategic planning processes, translating company goals into robust financial models. - Business Finance & Partnership:
Act as the primary financial advisor to business unit leaders, delivering deep‑dive analyses on unit economics, margins, and investment KPIs to optimize operational performance. - Executive & Board Reporting:
Synthesize complex financial performance, variances, and strategic trade‑offs into high‑impact presentations for the executive team, Board of Directors, and regulatory bodies. - Team Development:
Lead, mentor, and scale a high‑performing FP&A team, fostering an inclusive, data‑driven culture focused on continuous improvement and automation.
- Proven Finance Leadership: 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with a significant portion spent leading FP&A or Business Finance teams within a banking, fintech, or regulated financial services environment.
- Balance Sheet Expertise:
Strong foundational knowledge of bank revenue, expense, and balance sheet mechanics - Strategic Communication:
Exceptional ability to distill highly technical financial information into clear, compelling narratives for both financial and non‑financial stakeholders. - AI and Advanced Modeling & Scale:
Expert‑level financial modeling skills with a track record of using AI and modern business finance and FP&A software tools to automate data aggregation and scale forecasting processes. - Mission‑Driven Alignment: A collaborative, growth‑oriented mindset with a passion for serving Varo’s core customer base
For cash compensation, we set standard ranges for all US‑based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar‑stage growth companies. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors as well as candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the identified range.
