CRE Credit Underwriter II

Work closely and effectively with LOB and Credit partners through the underwriting, credit approval, documentation, closing and funding, post‑closing, and portfolio management procedures for credits. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience.

While operating within the bank’s risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.

• Focus on new money to new borrowers to the bank.
• Work with relationship managers for initial deal review, modeling, and structuring, including creation of the Opportunity Memo.
• Participate in deal pre‑clearance within Structured Finance Group, Credit, Capital Markets/Syndications, and other constituents.
• Order, obtain and ascertain due diligence information with RM, customers/prospects, and third‑party providers.
• Prepare credit approval documents and changes in terms, coordinate with RM and Credit to obtain proper approval.
• Engage and manage legal counsel and negotiate legal documentation with RM.
• Manage closing, funding, and booking process with Funding Desk and Credit Collateral Operations.
• Complete internal and external post‑closing items.
• Handle underwriting process for deal amendments and restructurings.
• Complete special projects and assignments as requested.

• College degree in accounting, finance, or economics.
• 7+ years of total work experience, including 4+ years of CRE underwriting, credit, or origination experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
• Advanced Excel skills a plus.
• Attentive to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Highly organized and able to manage several detailed tasks and processes concurrently.

Normal office environment with little exposure to dust, noise, temperature variations, and extended CRT screen viewing. Some travel required.

Base salary range: $82,100 – $172,500 per year. Eligible for incentive compensation based on company, line of business, and individual performance. The base salary reflects the range for all roles within this pay grade across the U.S. Individual salaries vary based on role, experience, education, and location.
