Responsible for managing a designated Commercial Investment Real Estate loan portfolio, including portfolio management, credit underwriting, construction monitoring, and ensuring compliance with bank and regulatory guidelines. Focuses on the quality of underwriting and ongoing portfolio management metrics. Assists Commercial Relationship Managers with client relationships while maintaining high creditability and mentors junior team members. Works primarily on medium‑complexity loans/portfolios requiring some oversight.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Underwrite, monitor, and analyze assigned Investment Real Estate portfolio.
- Identify risks promptly, maintaining high accuracy and quality underwriting aligned with the bank's risk appetite and regulatory standards.
- Lead complex transactions such as construction loans, multi‑level capital structures, and large developments, communicating solutions clearly to stakeholders.
- Monitor portfolio performance against KPIs/KRIs and ensure it remains within acceptable tolerances.
- Optimize customer relationships in collaboration with Relationship Managers.
- Ensure satisfactory reviews by regulators, internal and external auditors, and loan review boards.
- Support group‑wide initiatives for process improvement, role clarification, and output enhancements.
- Act as a mentor to junior Underwriting Portfolio Managers.
- Present credit actions in written analysis documents and verbally in committees and meetings.
- Perform related duties and projects as assigned.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) in a relevant field. - Experience:
Minimum 3 years of job‑related experience.
- Excellent project management, communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Proficient in MS Word (Basic), MS Excel (Intermediate), and MS PowerPoint (Basic).
- In-depth knowledge of Investment Real Estate lending, underwriting practices, commercial banking policies, procedures, and government regulations.
