Portfolio Retention Loan Officer, HELOC Specialist

Location: Charlotte, NC — In-office, Consumer Direct Call Center

• Originate HELOCs, home equity loans, cash-out refinances, and related products for existing servicing portfolio customers.
• Handle inbound inquiries and conduct proactive outbound calls using data triggers and our customer servicing portal.
• Consistently meet or exceed individual production targets for applications, locks, and closings.
• Build strong customer relationships through consultative selling and exceptional service.
• Maintain accurate pipeline management and follow all compliance and documentation standards.

• Partner with underwriting, processing, servicing, and compliance teams to ensure smooth loan progression and timely closings.
• Provide feedback on sales processes, scripts, and tools to help improve HELOC penetration within the portfolio.
• Identify cross-selling and retention opportunities that support long-term customer relationships.

• Proven mortgage originator with strong production skills, especially in HELOCs, refinances, or consumer-direct environments.
• Competitive, driven, and results-oriented with a track record of hitting targets.
• Skilled at building rapport quickly and converting warm leads into closed loans.
• Customer-focused professional who values consultative selling and creating lifelong relationships.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, metrics-driven call-center setting.

• Active NMLS license.
• 2+ years of mortgage origination experience with a strong track record in HELOCs, refinances, or consumer-direct mortgage sales (HELOC experience preferred).
• Solid knowledge of mortgage products, compliance, and servicing portfolio dynamics.
• Strong communication, consultative sales, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with LOS, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work in-office in Charlotte, NC.
