Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry. This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network.

Role Purpose

Global Finance Function serves as a strategic business partner, delivering data-driven insights and actionable recommendations grounded in advanced analytics and strong financial controls. The team ensures enterprise-wide financial expertise while driving accurate, efficient, and compliant transaction processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • OPEX financial management – track, analyze and report global OPEX spend across functional areas.
  • Deliver monthly variance analysis and actionable insights versus budget and forecast.
  • Identify trends, risks and opportunities to optimize spending.
  • Month-end close & accounting support – coordinate and execute month-end activities related to OPEX.
  • Prepare and post journal entries with strong attention to accuracy and controls.
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations, including preparation, review, and analytical validation of balances.
  • Planning, budgeting and forecasting – support annual budget and monthly forecast processes for OPEX.
  • Maintain and enhance financial models to reflect business dynamics.
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop realistic, data-driven forecasts.
  • Headcount and Cost Management – monitor and analyze headcount trends and labor related costs.
  • Provide insights into workforce planning and alignment to financial targets.
  • Capital spend oversight – track and report capital expenditures monthly for operating unit 1066.
  • Perform detailed analysis of capital spend versus plan and forecast.
  • Partner with business teams to ensure alignment of capital investments with financial objectives.
  • Business Partnering – serve as a trusted finance partner to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Lead monthly reviews of OPEX spending with business partners, providing clarity of actuals, variances and forecast updates.
  • Communicate monthly performance, forecast and key cost drivers.
  • Ad Hoc Analysis and Special Projects – respond to ad hoc financial analysis requests and leadership inquiries.
  • Support analysis related to key spending areas like travel, samples and relocation/expat expenses.
  • Lead or support continuous improvement and process simplification initiatives.
  • Digital and AI Enablement – embrace and leverage digital tools and AI-driven solutions to enhance financial analysis and reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve efficiency across OPEX management and reporting.
Experiences/Education - Required

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Experience collaborating across functions to solve complex business problems. Knowledge of financial and management accounting, including systems, compliance, and reporting requirements. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to identify key drivers and translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership.
