Job Duties

The Budget Analyst provides professional budget and financial support to the Poole College Office of Business Services ( OBS ). Reporting to the Finance Officer, the position assists academic and administrative units with budget development, financial monitoring, and reporting to support effective fiscal management. As, the Budget Analyst you will analyze financial data, prepares budget reports, monitors expenditures, and advises departments on budgetary options and the financial implications of operational decisions.

Additionally, you will work collaboratively with college leadership, department administrators, and central university offices to ensure compliance with university policies and funding requirements while supporting responsible stewardship of financial resources.

Primary Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:

Budget Development and Financial Monitoring

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of annual operating, personnel, and departmental budgets.
  • Monitor departmental budgets throughout the fiscal year and identify variances between budgeted and actual expenditures.
  • Review expenditures to ensure compliance with university policies, funding restrictions, and budgetary provisions.
  • Assist departments in evaluating available funding and understanding the budgetary impact of proposed expenditures.
