Markets provides solutions to clients with the means to manage their exposure through various derivatives, lending and cash products across Structured Products Group, Rates, Equities, Foreign Exchange, Municipal Products Group, Credit Sales & Trading.

About this role:

The candidate will lead the Market's division within our Structured Product Group (SPG) to work on quarterly Basel submissions, RWA (Risk-Weighted Assets) optimization, capital and returns analyses and the implementation of the Basel III End game rules.

This encompasses the following key responsibilities:

  • Oversee the co-ordination with the Markets division's LOBs to obtain the required Basel data across the credit, counter party and market risk work streams
  • Review, execute controls and provide credible challenge to SPG Banking's SSFA and SFA submissions
  • Work with the deal and the capital oversight teams to review and develop capital efficient structures and to lead initiatives that optimize capital
  • Produce quarterly reporting and presentations for senior management and provide advice on capital optimization strategies
  • Lead the effort to build out the data and technology requirements to adhere to the Basel III endgame rules
  • Work with Finance and the COO teams to provide RWA and capital forecasting and to develop various forecasting scenarios
  • Build out the data infrastructure and reporting for all of the Market's Basel work streams
  • Prepare and maintain the required Basel documentation
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to SPG Banking's LOBs and deal teams on Basel and capital related topics
  • Serve as the point person for the various Basel oversight teams
  • Manage key Basel initiatives by working with multiple stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of Credit Portfolio Consulting experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Desired

Qualifications:

  • Experience in evaluating Basel treatment, i.e., Securitization, Wholesale, Counter party and Markets, FRTB
  • Knowledge of the key drivers that derive the RWA calculation
  • Understanding of the Bank's current data infrastructure
  • Experience in reviewing Basel data submissions including SSFA (Simplified Supervisory Formula Approach) and SFA (Supervisory Formula Approach)
  • Experience in working with regulators and relevant internal approval or interpretational groups regarding Basel treatment for new products
  • Experience originating structured products a plus
  • Proven ability to work independently and make decisions
  • Ability to synthesize complex analytical findings into executive level communications
  • Proven experience presenting to senior management and regulators
  • Experience with governance and oversight requirements for regulatory and risk reporting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
