Job Description & How to Apply Below

This role requires a hybrid schedule and will be based in our South Charlotte, NC Headquarters (Tuesday through Thursday) and work fully remotely on Mondays and Fridays each week.

We’re looking for a deal-oriented, execution-focused Corporate Development Associate to join our multi-faceted Corporate Development team. This high-volume, high-accountability role is built for someone who thrives on owning the work. You will be the engine behind M&A, investments, capital structuring, and inorganic growth decisions: vetting targets, keeping work streams on track, guiding cross‑functional teams through end-to-end processes, building financial models, and ensuring leadership has what they need to make fast and informed decisions.

You will work across transactions ranging from $10M to $2B in technology, financial services, media, telecom, education and travel. Expect significant variety, a fast pace and real accountability from day one.

What You’ll Do
  • Build and own first-draft financial models, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow models as well as standard valuation analyses, with scenario modeling to stress‑test assumptions and surface key value drivers
  • Maintain and manage the M&A and partnership deal pipeline, keeping records current and flagging high-priority opportunities
  • Conduct initial screening of inbound and proactively sourced targets, assessing strategic fit, deal size, and financial profile against active investment theses
  • Manage work streams end-to-end, coordinating cross‑functional teams including Finance, Legal, HR, Tax, and Operations
  • Prepare screening memos summarizing key facts, strategic rationale, and recommended next steps for senior review
  • Build and maintain presentation materials for leadership and board‑level deal reviews, investment committee meetings, and strategic planning discussions
  • Translate complex financial and strategic analysis into clean, executive‑ready decks with clear recommendations
  • Conduct industry research and competitive landscape analysis to identify emerging opportunities across priority verticals
  • Maintain diligence trackers, manage the data room, and ensure workstream leads are hitting deadlines
  • Support post‑close integration planning and assist with partnership and portfolio reviews, flagging performance trends for leadership attention
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Accounting or a related field
  • 1–2 years’ experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, or corporate development
  • Strong financial modeling skills; you can build a model from scratch and defend every assumption
  • Exceptional attention to detail; you catch the error before it goes to the CFO
  • Proven ability to manage multiple work streams simultaneously under tight deadlines
  • Intellectually curious; you’re a fast and eager learner with the demonstrated ability of being a thought partner for strategic decisions
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
  • High proficiency in Excel and Power Point, CapIQ, and AI-based software and tools (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.)
Compensation

This range reflects total cash compensation, which may include base salary only or base salary plus target bonus, depending on the role. Where eligible, equity may also be offered separately and not included below. Actual compensation varies based on location, experience, and qualifications.

  • Total Cash Compensation Range: $90,000 – $130,000 per year
Benefits
  • Health Insurance Coverage (medical, dental, and vision)
  • Life Insurance
  • Short and Long‑Term Disability Insurance
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Holiday Pay
  • 401(k) with match
